There are a number of advantages to the TECH-SPECS suite of Engineering Programs when compared to traditional Specification Sheets, these advantages include: -

All  Engineering Programs are fully customisable, allowing for the use of a single branded product or any combination of products from a variety of suppliers.

Any Patio, Carport, Room Enclosure or Deck design that is not already included in any of the TECH-SPECS Programs can be included in future program updates if and when required.

These programs all but eliminate the arduous task of Engineering Training for new staff as anyone with limited Engineering knowledge can quickly and easily learn to use the programs. Page specific instructions can be found in the top left-hand corner of each and every page and video tutorials available on the "Demonstration Videos" page of this site

*  A comprehensive TECH-SPECS User Manual is provided for each of the programs as well as a comprehensive Engineering Design Manual.

Only 1 printed page is required for each Building/Construction Application rather than the large number of pages traditionally required with traditional printed Specification Sheets.

*  Errors and omissions are eliminated as “Design Correct” will not be displayed until all data input and applicable calculations are correct.

*  The ability to use any combination of Roll Formed Beams, Steel RHS Beams, F17 Hardwood Beams, Generic Aluminium Beams and Span-Tech Aluminium Beams. (Even in the 1 structure if required).

Correct Footing/Tie-Down Calculations are displayed at every Post location ensuring correct footing sizes. (No oversize footings that use excessive concrete and/or labour, and no possibility of an undersized footing that risks potential failure of the new structure)

All loads on the existing structure are calculated (If required) allowing for fast and accurate selection of Bracketry and Rafter Strengthening if and when it’s required.

All Carports, Patios and Room Enclosures can be designed with a Post height of up to 4.0 mtrs.

Decks and Floors can also be designed with Post heights of up to 4.0 mtrs and all relevant Bracing requirements are specified in the Engineering Design Manual.

Decks and Floors can be Certified with loads of 1.5 kPa, 2.0 kPa or 3.0 kPa which allows for most domestic and commercial applications. (Not industrial)

All Free-Standing Structure designs specify the required Post and Footing Size rather than a “1 size fits all” approach as is often the case with standard Specification Sheets.

All Fly-Over Structures are certified using TECH-SPECS Designed and Engineered Bracketry that provide both the required Tie-Down Capacity and Bracing Capacity ensuring the stability of the new structure.

The TECH-SPECS Free Standing Structures and Fly-Over Structures cannot be attached to an Existing Deck without specific Engineering as Deck construction varies enormously and may not provide the required bracing Capacity

All Free-Standing Structures and Fly-Over Structures can be designed with Posts cast into footings or with a welded base plate and required fixings to be bolted down to the footing and in some cases an existing concrete slab.
